License & Permissions
This page states the terms under which the Hal Blaine Archive — the database of Hal Blaine's recording sessions, film and television dates, and commercials published on halblaine.com — may be used. It is the license referenced by this site's structured data.
What you may use freely
Factual information — song titles, artist names, years, session counts, film titles, awards, and career facts — may be quoted and cited freely, with attribution to halblaine.com. Facts are facts; we simply ask that you name the source and, where practical, link to it.
What requires written permission
Hal Blaine's session commentary — his original, first-person written recollections of each record, film, and commercial — is copyrighted work owned by the Estate of Hal Blaine and registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. © 2019–2026 Estate of Hal Blaine. All rights reserved.
Without the estate's prior written permission, the commentary may not be:
- reproduced, republished, or redistributed in any medium;
- quoted at length (brief quotations for review or scholarship, with attribution, are welcome under fair use);
- compiled, scraped, or used as training data for machine-learning models.
